Module 1- Testing and Remediation

Completing this module opened my eyes to the amount of testing strategies there are available for me to use when taking exams. Typically, when I test, I tend to write a check mark next to questions that I 100% know the answer to, a Dash (“-“) next to questions that I know but there is another answer that could also be right, and a circle (“0”) next to questions that I have no idea and am completely guessing the answer. This strategy I use to help relieve post-test anxiety and shows me how much of the test I actually know based off of the amount of check marks, dashes and circles that I put next to the test questions. However, after completing this module, I realized there are strategies to help me actually answer the questions. I appreciated the test strategy in which they determined the positive and negative wording of the questions and answers. This will help in many situations during test taking. If I am between two answers and one of them matches the positive/negative wording of the question then I know which answer it will be. Also, if I am completely guessing an answer to a question, I can use this strategy and process of elimination to try to figure out the answer to the question. I actually ended up using this strategy in my Adult Health exam this past Monday and it was extremely helpful.
