I appreciated this nurse logic module about priority setting frameworks. As a nursing student right now, I use these frameworks in order to answer questions, however I know that as I take the NCLEX exam and move into the real world, I will use these frameworks as well. The three frameworks that I consistently use during testing and in class are the ABC (Airway, breathing and circulation) framework, Maslow’s hierarchy of needs framework as well as the nursing process. The other frameworks mentioned in the module, such as least restrictive/least invasive and survival potential, were completely new to me but I found to be very interesting and useful for the future. After completing the module I now understand other frameworks that I can use as a student, and when I go to take the NCLEX exam, but more importantly in the real world as a nurse. I also understand the importance of actually using these frameworks as it reduces the risk for mistakes and patient safety.
