Personally, I never liked writing, or English in general because I never felt that it was one of my strong suits . However, I went into English 110 with an open mind, because I wanted to become better at one of my weakest subjects. Through English 110, I have learned many strategies that I can use to make my writing more professional and mature. These include active reading, brainstorming, drafting, revision and polishing strategies. More specifically, I use tools such as outlining, reading my writing out loud to myself or others, or making a list of possible claim sentences to use in my essay.  I have also developed peer reviewing and annotating skills that are extremely helpful when writing.  All of these strategies I can carry with me through the rest of my college career in order to make my essays, and other writing more competent for a college student. After English 110, I feel much more confident about my writing abilities because I know I have the tools to tackle any writing assignment.
