Planning the Journey

Planning the Journey

During this semester I believe that team work and communication will be two major pieces to being able to successfully complete this project. Each of the members in my team, including myself, must put in the same amount of effort, work and time in order to make a cohesive and well thought out paper. I have no doubt that we will be able to finish each piece of this project with little stress, as long as we work together and communicate effectively. We have already started a group text message platform for our team in order to effectively communicate and if we feel we are not being effective through text message our plan will be to either call on the phone of meet in person to discuss an issue. In order to hold each other accountable, we will split the work evenly between the three group members. If we run into an emergency where we are unable to complete our piece one week, we will communicate that with the other team members and figure out a way to get the assignments finished instead of just leaving it to the last second. Our plan for conflict management will be to communicate with each other and if one of the team members fails to do so or fails to fix their behavior we will contact Professor Kramlich in order to fix the issue.

In my experience, completing a team project can have many benefits including less work for each individual person as well as more people to bounce ideas off of. However, team projects also have barriers including team members not doing their part to complete the project, or not putting in enough effort. Completing this team project will definitely be useful in my nursing career because I will see collaboration and team work in the health care field for the rest of my life. Nurses work with the healthcare team, other nurses, the patient and their family in order to provide the best care possible for their patients. Learning to work as a team is essential in nursing practice.
