When reading over my Second English essay again, after reading the “They Say/ I Say” chapter,  I did notice some patterns that I use especially when trying to transition my sentences or subjects. I noticed that I use “Take for example,” “However” and “because” a lot in order to transition between sentences. I feel that I mostly use the transition example devices (Take for example) as well as the contrast transition devices (However). One of my paragraphs in this essay has two separate topics including making school enjoyable through art and empathy. I could possibly use the cause and effect transition devices in order to connect the two subjects in the paragraph.
